23 Sep Register Now for the 2016 Young Ag Leadership Conference!
Hurry, its not too late to register for the 2016 Young Ag Leadership Conference that is being held in Great Falls at the Holiday Inn September 30-October 2nd! Today is the last day that you can register for just $40 (and be entered into a drawing to win a Yeti Tumbler!). After today, registration rates go up to $50.
This unique conference–a partnership between ten of Montana’s primary agricultural groups (including the Montana Wool Growers!)– allows young producers from throughout the state to come together across organization and commodity lines for hands-on workshops, area Ag tours, and networking.
YALC is designed for anyone ages 18-40 who is involved with or concerned about Montana’s agricultural industry. The conference begins Friday, September 30 with tours of Frontline Ag, the Giant Springs Fish Hatchery, and the McKamey West Ranch. Registration opens at 4 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, followed by a dinner and speaker exercise with Sarah Bohnenkamp, Millennial Leadership Coach. Saturday will open up with Darrell Stevenson of Stevenson Angus Ranch who will talk about “Going Global with Beef Genetics,” then participants are offered a selection of nine different workshops, featuring presenters from Northwest Farm Credit Services, MSU Extension, National Weather Service and many more. Workshops will include topics such as environmental stewardship, UVA’s (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) in Agriculture, getting started finances, changes to the new veterinary feed directive rule, and how the bridge the generational differences in the workplace, just to name a few. New to the agenda this year, the entrepreneur spotlights will give attendees a first-hand look into the successes and failures that small business owners from the area had to endure while trying to start their own business. Conference goers will eat dinner and dance to the Crawford Brothers band at center field of Centene Stadium to round out Saturday’s events. Attendees are in for a real treat on Sunday morning when Carrie Mess, aka “Dairy Carrie”, will wrap up the conference with a can’t-miss keynote on “What Our Consumers Really Want From Us.”
Cost of registration for YALC is now only $50, with all meals provided. Register online at www.mfbf.org or contact Jesse Wallewein at (406) 450-3429 or firstname.lastname@example.org for any last minute event details.
