7th Annual Montana Ewe Sale
Wednesday, September 16, 2020
Social: 5pm, Sale: 6pm
Eastern Montana Fairgrounds, Miles City, MT
Sale Catalog Available Online 9/1/2020
Mark your calendars now to attend the seventh annual Montana Ewe Sale in Miles City on Wednesday, September 16.
The ewe sale committee would like everyone who is a member of Montana Wool Growers to have time to think about consigning or attending the ewe sale. The entry blank can be found in the past 2 issues of the Montana Woolgrower, and under the “Ewe Sale Entry Form” link above. Although entries close on August 1, we encourage breeders to send in their entries as soon as possible. The sooner we know what breed and how many are being consigned we can start advertising to potential buyers.
The ewe sale committee expects several breeds of commercial whiteface and meat sheep to be offered. In the past we’ve had Rambouillet, Targhee, Cormo X Targhee, Rambouillet X Targhee, Cormo and Suffolk.
The meat type ewe lambs will sell in lots of 5 head. All the whiteface lots for sale on the grounds will either sell in lots of 10 head or 20 head. All ewes sold on the grounds will be handled individually and tipped up to make sure they have functional udders, a sound mouth, and that no health risks are evident at inspection.
Off-site ewes sell in lots of 100 head or full semi loads. Take advantage of the option to split a semi load into lots of 75 head—take one, two, three lots or the entire load!! 100 head offsite lots can be split into lots of 50 head. Visit with your friends and neighbors and split a load of quality breeding ewes.

History of the MT Ewe Sale
The 1st Annual Montana Ewe Sale took place on September 10, 2014 at the Eastern Montana Fairgrounds in Miles City, Montana. There was close to 500 head entered in the sale with mostly Rambouillet, Targhee, and Rafter 7 Merino crosses being offered.
The ewe sale offered some of the best female genetics available from ram sale consignors and select replacements from quality Montana commercial producers. Both ewe lambs and yearling ewes were offered in lots of 10, 20, 100 and pot load consignments.
