4th Annual Montana Ewe Sale

The Montana Ewe Sale Committee welcomes you to the 4th Annual Montana Ewe Sale. This year’s ewe sale is held in conjunction with the 92nd Annual Ram Sale on Thursday, Sept 14 starting at noon. Both sales are held in the Agri-Sports building at the Eastern MT Fairgrounds.
This year’s consignment features 565 head of top quality ewe lambs and yearlings alike from 16 top notch producers from around the state. We have 5 new consignors this year—Rebecca McEuen, Jeanie Green, Kathy McRae, Sam Ortmann and Kristin Bieber.
New this year are whiteface ewe lambs–10 American Cormo’s that are 5 months old. The remainder of the Targhee, Merino, Rambouillet, Targhee X Merino and Rambouillet X Targhee whiteface ewes are yearlings. All three Suffolk and Suffolk X Hampshire lots are ewe lambs. Every ewe sold on the premises will have been individually inspected, ensuring you purchase the highest quality replacement ewes for your flock. SALE TERMS: All ewes sold on the grounds must be paid for immediately following the ewe sale. Off-site delivery will be conducted within 10 days of sale. A 20% down payment will be required on any sheep sold off-site.
History of the MT Ewe Sale
The 1st Annual Montana Ewe Sale took place on September 10, 2014 at the Eastern Montana Fairgrounds in Miles City, Montana. There was close to 500 head entered in the sale with mostly Rambouillet, Targhee, and Rafter 7 Merino crosses being offered.
The ewe sale offered some of the best female genetics available from ram sale consignors and select replacements from quality Montana commercial producers. Both ewe lambs and yearling ewes were offered in lots of 10, 20, 100 and pot load consignments.
